Named: Second Lieutenant H.L. Hines, US Navy.
LT Hines was born June 6, 1914. D Day in World War II, was on June 6, 1944.
Second Lieutenant, spent D-Day (his 30th Birthday) digging mines out of the sand at Utah Beach
(France, code name for one of five sectors) prior to the soldiers going ashore there.
He was in a special group chosen to do the dirty work of removing the mines.
Following, he went on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific Theater, but that is where my information ends.
