Fresh from an estate sale, here is an original olive drab wool WW II US ARMY AIR CORPS OFFICER'S CRUSHER CAP with the leather sweatband marked CURVE CONTROLLED FLIGHTER BY BANCROFT – VISOR in gold. This is the style commonly worn by Bomber Pilots as it was possible to wear a headset over the top comfortably. The front has a large gold tone WW2 Army Overseas insignia over the leather visor. The leather sweatband is still supple with no splits, all intact stitching, and measures about 21 ½” in diameter which would make it about a 6 7/8 size. The leather visor is still soft as well. There are no moth holes. The material inside the crown that appears to have been to protect the fabric above it from sweat and has a waxy look has deteriorated and has splits. Please, use the photos to help you judge condition for yourself. Reenactors, why have modern reproductions when you can have the real deal?
This item would be of interest to militaria collectors and historians.
We have a World War 2 Army 1944 Field Pack Suspenders set with hardware listed if you care to take a look and we are always happy to combine shipping to save you  money.
WHEN DOING FEEDBACK, PLEASE, KEEP IN MIND THAT REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE DESCRIPTORS SAY, EBAY CONSIDERS ANYTHING LESS THAN A 5 AS UNSATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE AND PENALIZES SELLERS IN HIDDEN WAYS. REGARDING SHIPPING TIME, PLEASE, JUDGE THE DATE THE ITEM WAS SENT AND NOT WHEN THE POST OFFICE FINALLY GETS IT TO YOU. THE STAR SYSTEM CAN BE VERY DISCOURAGING WHEN YOU TRY HARD TO DO THINGS RIGHT AND STILL GET LOWERED RATINGS.
