Up for sale a complete kit to upgrade your Dunlop GBC-95 Crybaby to vintage specs using original vintage components
If you are bored of the sound of your stock Dunlop crybaby, give him new life upgrading it with original vintage components, I’ve personally experimented how the main reason of the poor sound of a stock Crybaby, is only in its cheap capacitors and resistors, changin them with these, you’ll get a more musical vintage sound
The package include the upgrade for all the part of the wah, buffer included.
I’ve choose metal film for the buffer (that must be very quit and neutral-sounding) and Piher and Allen Bradley resistors for the rest, that give to the circuit a very musical, vintage-oriented tone. The mullard tropical fish capacitors,
the 2 styroflex (used in the original circuit) and BC109B do the rest of the magic, but since the sound is a personal matter, in the kit you have other different components to experiment and personalize your sound, so you have 3 extra resistors
1 X 47K
if you change the 68K with a lower value, you can gain some volume that is lost installing lower HFE transistors like the BC109, (you can use the 47K in place of the 68K)
1 X 1K and 1 X 1,5K Allen Bradley 1/4W
you can use the Allen bradley in place of their equivalent values to add some mojo to the tone
Since in some cases, the tropical fish caps had brittle leads, each tropical fish cap in the kit is tested for strenght, in way to avoid bad suprises
