    Most likely post WW11 era US helmet shell rear seam. Only one buckle left. Was told it was used by the Navy Shore Patrol. Outside white paint has seen much use & inside very rusty. The dealer who sold it to me said it had a decal that had deteriorated. I thought they were stenciled on? You be the judge. Bought at the old Great Western forty years ago. Bargained priced.
