    White / Blue
    Great original classic BMW
Very Nice Condition – Well kept local car
    62,756 miles
    Many Upgrades
    Original Interior
This is a great opportunity to get an original classic BMW 2002 in very nice original condition.  Very solid body and not rusty.  Engine and suspension upgrades and more.  Lots of $$ spent by the current owner.  I am listing this car for a friend of mine.   I asked him to write up some info on the car, see below:
1976 BMW 2002.  I bought the car locally about 4 years ago. It was a a local car for the last 2 owners as well.
Car was clean.  The previous owner bought it painted as it is and it is rust free.  There area two very small paint bubble spots that do not penetrate as rust on the inside….see the photos.
    It shifts smoothly, drives straight.
I have the original wheels that will go with the car.
Wheels are bottle caps off a BMW 320 and the tires are new Michelin’s.
Selling the car as part of a downsize.  I just don’t drive it enough to keep it.
The car has the Original engine and tranny to the best of my knowledge.
The car dates back in Houston, and Austin, Texas according to the previous owner (at least 15+ years) and is reported to be a southern car throughout its life.   I bought it after looking for several year models because it was a ‘76 (last year), rust free, original engine and transmission (per the previous owner).   The car was in excellent shape and drove well.  I then set about making it the car that it should be:  5 speed with AC.  The steering wheel is a BWA (made in Italy), and the original is not provided.
I sent the car to Austin to Terry Slayther Automotive, who knew the car when it lived in Austin and worked on it then:
The redo, upgrade from Terry Sayther (see below) was close to 000 and I can provide receipts for that.  Completed about a year ago.
“Austin Auto Repair - Terry Sayther Automotive - Your BMW, MINI or Land Rover deserves the best attention. When you notice any signs of something not working right, it’s time for quality repairs at Terry Sayther Automotive in Austin, TX.”

I installed a high end ac system with a custom install by Terry Sayther.  They had an almost unlimited budget and went through the car front to back, top to bottom, inside and out.  They did work on the suspension, re-worked almost all the engine bay wiring, sourced and put in a 5 speed out of a BMW320i.  They went through every system.  The base car is solid, rust free and the seats and rugs are original.  The dash is original as well.
These guys at Terry Sayther Automotive are '02 specialists and were given a generous budget that they ended up exceeding with thoughtful and aesthetic and mechanical improvements.  They had a BMW320i 5-speed and did that change.  They checked and serviced every system.   Engine was solid and needed nothing.  The clutch was good.  That was installed.  They put in a very efficient AC system sold by Hance BMW in Dallas.   They also went through the car bumper to bumper and cleaned up all the wiring, serviced the brakes and suspension, fixed the sunroof ($$), and made sure that everything was good to go.  No leaks no drips, does not smoke.
I picked up the car and drove it in "Texas 02berfest" clocking 500+ miles the day I got it back.  It drove perfectly.  I still wasn't done.  I wanted the bottle cap wheels (off the 320) and added those and new tires (less than a year old and less than 100 miles).
I repainted the sunroof because of the alignment issues, that were fixed in Austin, had caused scratches on the sunroof.  The paint is slightly lighter on the sunroof.
The headliner is original and the headliner on the sunroof is imperfectly attached (there are clips available for this, but I just haven't gotten to it).
The mileage is 62,756 TMU, but the seats and carpet are original and support a lower mileage figure rather than higher.  The car is solid when going down the road.  The window crank on the drivers side is imperfect as it raises and lowers the window and seems to have a slight amount of play (meaning it doesn't feel linearly connected as the passenger side does), but the window goes up and down straight.  Seals all around are good.  All the lights work.  There is no radio, and the radio from the previous owner is included (unknown function).    I chose not to install this because I didn't want to put anything in the car that was worth breaking a window for.    I use bluetooth speakers anyway.
The key works the ignition, doors and trunk.
This car is garage kept.  Can provide documentation for all the work done by Terry Sayther, and will make an introduction to the shop for a serious buyer to allow discussion with the shop about my car.  I love the car but I just don't drive it enough.
Bid early and message me for any questions and I can call you back.  Check my feeback as a seller! Good luck….
