    *****
    world famous
    "SMOOTH POT"
we start with a north american made RV4 spec military grade potentiometer. then we do an 8 step process to turn it into the super-tough part that we are proud of.
    PROBLEM - SCRATCHY WAH POTS!!!
our pots have great lifespan. the large majority of open back ( with cover) 25mm wah pots on the market have a very short lifespan before going scratchy. we know, because we have been testing these pots extensively for years. the sellers of these pots will tell you to get out the pot spray cleaner and spray some inside there, but what if it happens in the middle of a very important session or live show? who needs the hassle?
with our pot, you will not need cleaner for a long time. we have found they even outlast the 1990s mil-spec allen bradley hotpotz1s from our NOS stash.
    NOTE about tapers.
    there are basically two types:
    1. the fast hotpotz type, which dunlop still uses, has a rapid transition and a condensed taper which allows full sweep in a small amount of foot travel. a lot of people like these for funk, rock, etc. but the downside is a loss of slower expressiveness, which brings us to:
    2. the old classic ICAR taper favored by many boutique wah makers and vintage tone freaks. people who like an atmospheric slow filter fade also prefer the slower taper of icar. rock and funk players with a fast foot can still get their sounds. swamp and blues players have the extended mid sweep.
in testing, our new pot is within 10% of the taper of the classic ICAR at all points.
see tech tips photo above for ideas on getting full range out of older crybaby wahs with the narrower travel.

    customer feedback:
just installed pot today, it responds very nice. beats the hell out of plastic hot pot 2. and for the money, awesome! thanx. - Jeff S - lllinois
---"Got the pot today and only played with it for about 5 minutes but it's nice and just as you described. The Hot Pot that was in the pedal previously is a Hot Potz II but it is marked as a 1. I like that one too but yours is more gradual and smoother. Still not sure if I found the right sweet spot for my vintage BF Fender amps but I think I'm close. My tech didn't think there would be much improvement with the mods you were suggesting but he was impressed with the pot." - RH
----"Exactly as described! Excellent seller! A+++" - Mitch
----"Great replacement pot. Arrived quickly and accurately described in auction." - Robert
------"Excellent and honest seller, thank you!!" - Deke
------"First of all, sound… awesome! This is a fantastic sounding/playing pot . There is a slight difference in feel with the 14-tooth gear vs. an ICAR pot, in a good way. It's hard to describe, but I'd say maybe smoother and more even. Is that possible? I know there's not really supposed to be any difference… maybe it was my shoes (lol!)." - Tom H, (author of a very famous stompbox book.)
-------" My 1969 Vox wah finally sounds like it did years ago. THANK YOU!! " - Greg
----------"The best wah guy in the US..5 Stars" -jrgati
-----"Best pot out there. Tried them all. Nothin compares. Unreal customer service" -rgil7472, (collector of many vintage wahs, wah expert)
--------"Nice smooth sweep, fast delivery!"  - brettflynn
--------------" This pot is amazing..... Left in Heel position with a Dimarzio Super II (Neck ) and a Mesa Express 5:50 distorted.... Very close to Eric Johnsons tone.
Amazing... The sweep is very smooth. Like a Vanilla Shake on a hot summer's day. Or a shot of Maker's Mark depending on your perspective. Very Smooooth. More folks need to know about this great POT.. I will never go back to the quacky Hot Potz 2 again. The rotation was a bit tight but worked in within a few minutes. Nice stuff you are selling. Well worth the investment" -dana in iowa
----------"I WISH I WOULD HAVE HAD THIS POT A LONG TIME AGO! THE MONEY IVE THROWN AWAY!!!!" -- Otto, City Music Annex
