2006 - 2008 Honda Civic OEM Ignition Switch with 3 keys for
Automatic Transmission
This ignition switch fits all
Honda Civic from 2006 to 2011
with
an automatic transmission
. The part was removed from a 2007 Honda Civic. This ignition switch comes with
3
keys.
The keys need to be programmed.

Honda Civics that are year
2001 or newer
are equipped with an immobilizer system. The keys have
a chip
inside of them. The chip key must match the engine computer in order to start the car.
If the car will
not start
because of this issue there will be a light (showing a picture of a key) that will come on in the dashboard when you crank the engine. This indicates that the car will not start due to not having the proper key.
In order to solve this issue you can:
Have the key to the lock you ordered copied by a local locksmith, but ask them to program the chip to match the one in your old key.
If you do not have the old key a locksmith can connect a small machine to the OBD2 port in the vehicle and program the car to work with the key that came with the lock.
